Slime Care

It is perfectly normal for slime consistency to change over time and also if exposed to different temperature;

sticky in warmth & rubbery in cold.

The good news is it can always be fixed with some quick remedies!

Here are some tips you can try if your slime gets sticky or rubbery

Important things to note about slime care:

  • Always wash your hands before playing with slime

  • Always make sure the surface you are playing on is non-stick and clean

  • Slime will naturally stick to hands that are too warm, not clean or if you have dry skin-add some moisturizer if necessary.

  • Be careful not to add too much activator at once to your slime to risk over-activating. Add 2-3 drops at a time and knead & repeat until you get the desired texture.

  • Different slime texture have different stickiness/levels to it. Below is a brief guideline on the textures of slime that may require more care to play with;

Please follow our tutorial on our TikTok page to make your activator:

Too sticky:

If your slime is sticky from heat or overplaying then please apply some drops of activator. We include a bottle of borax-based sticky slime spray (activator) in your order along with instructions for long term care of your slime.

Adding a few drops of baby oil to clear, Icee or fluffy slime can help reduce stickiness also.

Too rubbery/dry:

Add a couple of drops of Glycerin to your slime. Glycerin acts as a deactivator so if you either accidently overactivated your slime or its gotten tough over time; glycerin can be purchased in most supermarkets (in the baking section) or on Amazon. Please note the slime will break down as you initially mix in the Glycerin but please trust the process and keep kneading and it will eventually come back together!
